FAMILY MEDICINE
DEPARTMENTAL FUNCTIONS & ACTIVITIES
The family medicine department is the first point of contact and care for all new
patients coming to access care in the hospital in addition to the accident and
emergency unit. It also provides the following services
- Residency training in Family Medicine
2. Primary and Secondary care via the General Outpatients, National Health
Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Staff, Retainership clinics and Inpatient care
3. Referrals to the Specialist Clinics for deserving patients
4. Clinical services at Comprehensive Health Centre, Kumbotso
5. Research relevant to the practice of Family Medicine
