Laundry And Linen Services Is A Department Under The Directorate Of Administration. The Department Has The Responsibilities Of Sourcing, Sewing, Maintenance And Distribution Of All Linen Items For Effective And Efficient Services To The Patient. The Department Provides Two Sets Of Uniform To Every Uniform User To Serve For Two (2) Years (Except On Special Cases Approved By Management) After Which Renewal Is Made On Request. The Staff Affected Are Technicians, Technologists, Doctors, Radiographers, Laundry Personnel, Physiotherapists, Attendants, Horticulture And Environment, Catering, Social Welfare, Health Information Personnel, Porters And Messengers. The Department Also Undertakes Training Of Middle Level Manpower On Handling Of Mechanized Laundry Across The Country. The Functions Of The Department Can Therefore, Be Summarized As Follows:
1. Provision Of Clean And Disinfected Linen Items To The Theatres, Wards, Clinics And Other Department/Units Of The Hospital.
2. Provision Of Protective Clothing (Uniforms) To All Staff Of The Hospital
3. Training Of Middle-Level Manpower Within And From Other Sister Hospitals Across The Country.
4. Advise Management On All Linen Matters.
